Review: CEO Meeting and Management Awareness Training

Towards the end of last year and the beginning of this year, we had the opportunity to significantly increase the visibility of the ATSEP function within top management.

First, in December, we conducted a “Management Awareness Training”, which was attended by numerous T-managers. The aim of this training was to deepen the understanding of the technical and regulatory environment in which ATSEPs operate. We highlighted the legal and operational requirements we face, the central importance of ATSEP training, and the essential contribution ATSEPs make to the daily safe operation. A frequent issue is that new managers often come from other areas and do not yet fully understand the concept of this HRO tool. We wanted to address this knowledge gap in a targeted manner. Stefan Böller and Daniel Döbeli developed a one-day course to explain the relevance of safety culture and work ethics for ensuring safe operations at Skyguide. Based on this, additional courses will now be offered to T-management. Many thanks for that!

Secondly, our president, Matthias Berner, had the opportunity to present SATTA – and thus the importance of ATSEPs – directly to the CEO. The conversation was very open, and CEO Peter Merz was extremely receptive to our concerns and input. We definitely have an open door, and the board may contact him at any time.

Survey: Skyguide T

To gain a deeper understanding of the current situation in Engineering at Skyguide, we will conduct a survey. It is important for us to obtain an accurate picture of today’s situation so that we can effectively advocate for your needs and for quality improvements. Remember: no one knows a system better than the technicians who work with it every day. That is why your personal feedback is indispensable. Please take a moment to answer the questions. Thank you very much for your support!

TUM / STRATOM

This time, for cost-saving reasons, the TUM/STRATCOM will be reduced to a single day and will take place online, as well as locally in Geneva and Zurich. A central, joint meeting will be omitted. In principle, we support this decision, as savings must be made across the board. Nevertheless, the quality of direct exchange – especially the discussions between meeting blocks and at the joint dinner – will certainly be missed. We hope that in the future, there will again be opportunities for in-person meetings. To ensure we can bring your concerns forward effectively, it is important that you share your topics with us in advance – whether for 17 March or for the upcoming TUMs

It appears that WhatsApp encountered a problem with our chat and unfortunately deleted it. We are currently trying to find out what caused this. During the first incident, we were still able to deactivate the chat, but now even that is no longer possible. For existing WhatsApp members, we will create a new chat and invite you directly. This means you will not need to register again using the QR code. Thank you for your understanding – we will keep you updated.
