SUMMARY:12 November: International ATSEP Day
DESCRIPTION:
Technology. Expertise. Aviation Safety.

S
afe air traffic depends on reliable technology — and the people who take re
sponsibility for it. On 12 November, International ATSEP Day recognises the
professionals who provide and maintain the technical foundation of air nav
igation services.

ATSEP stands for Air Traffic Safety Electro
nics Personnel. These professionals include technicians, engineers
, and hardware and software specialists. They ensure the reliable operation
of radio communications, navigation aids, surveillance systems and air tra
ffic management data processing systems.

Their work goes far beyond m
aintenance. They integrate and test systems, monitor performance, investiga
te faults and safely return equipment to operational service. This requires
technical expertise and a clear understanding of how their decisions affec
t operational safety.

Whether working in an equipment room, at a remo
te installation or on the introduction of new systems, ATSEP make an essent
ial contribution to safe and reliable air navigation services. Their expert
ise supports air traffic controllers and pilots in their daily work.

SATTA thanks all ATSEP for their expertise, diligence and continued
commitment to aviation safety — in Switzerland and around the world.</stro
