SUMMARY:Internation ATSEP Day
DESCRIPTION:IFATSEA is the global voice of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel, de
fined by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) as ATSEP.11\n
Our profession is an important link in the aviation safety chain.\nPilots r
ely on Air Traffic Controller, that a flight is safeguarded and the separat
ion of aircrafts in air traffic is maintained. Pilots rely on accurate elec
tronic signals transmitted from ground navigational aids to follow the plan
ned flight path and to follow signals transmitted e.g. by Instrument Landin
g Systems to exercise safe landing operations even under bad weather situat
ions with low visibility.\nComplex CNS/ATM technical systems are needed for
the provision of Air Traffic Control Services. Aircrafts are displayed in
real time on radar screens. A global digital aviation network ensures, that
Air Traffic Controllers know the planned flight route. Technical systems g
uarantee the voice communication between Pilots and ATC.\nATSEPs guarantee
the Accuracy, Integrity, Availability and Continuity of these systems and s
ervices around the globe 24/7 throughout the year.\nWhile we move into a ne
w era and increased reliance on Automation in aviation, the ICAO at the rec
ently held 13th Air Navigation Conference, recognised the increasing role o
f ATSEP for maintaining a safe Communication, Navigation, Surveillance and
Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) infrastructure.\nAviation drives the world
economy. Well trained, qualified, competent and in several states licensed
Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel, install, maintain and control al
l these air traffic control systems to safeguard passengers, aircraft crews
, and cargo during their flight, as well as the Safety, Performance, Resili
ence and smooth operation of the whole aviation system.\nATSEP are a key en
abler in the safe and efficient provision of Air Navigation Services.\nWe i
nvite you to celebrate with IFATSEA the profession of Air Traffic Safety El
ectronic Personnel (ATSEP), that ensure safety and security of aviation on
 the 12th of November.\n
